CREATIVE youngsters have designed posters to help police put an end to dangerous parking outside schools.
Officers have been battling against a growing trend of anti-social parking on zig zags outside schools in Frinton and Walton.
They fear it is only a matter of time before a child is seriously hurt as a result of a parked car blocking the view of the road.
As well as launching extra patrols outside schools at peak times, officers launched a poster competition to get youngsters involved in the effort.
Prizes were donated for the winners by a host of local businesses, including Walton Pier, Artishack, Caxton Books and Tesco.
Walton Primary School pupil Lucy Colley clinched first place and her poster will be copied and displayed prominently outside schools in the area in a bid to get parents to take notice of the warnings.
PCSO Paul Brassey said: “We received a lot of great entries and I’d like to thank all the schools for taking part and those who donated prizes.
“This parking trend has become a problem.
“Hopefully by getting local children to design these posters highlighting the dangers of parking on zig zags we will make parents and guardians take more notice of the advice.”
