AN NHS trust from Hertfordshire has been chosen to treat north Essex people suffering from depression and anxiety disorders.
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded the contract to run the Health in Mind service in north east Essex.
People current receiving treatment and on courses for mild to moderate depression and anxiety disorders such as panic attacks and post-traumatic stress will keep receiving the same help for the time being.
The new trust, awarded the contract by the North East Essex clinical commissioning group following a tender process, will review the service and make changes where needed.
Dr Nick White, from the Hertfordshire trust, said: “We have an excellent track record for delivering services to those living in Hertfordshire.
“We are looking forward to bringing our expertise to those in Essex who may need help with their mental wellbeing.”
People can be referred for help by their GP or by calling 0300 330 5455.
