ART will be brought to libraries in Essex thanks to lottery funding.
The county council-run Essex Library service has won a share of £93,000 from the Arts Council England.
Cash will be used to bring artists in to develop reading activities and arts workshops this summer.
The money will be shared between ten authorities in the region.
John Jowers, county councillor for libraries, said: “Essex Libraries are already running a very successful Summer Reading Challenge and now the additional funding will enable young people to express their reading through a range of art forms, learn new skills and to work with some high quality artists.”
