STAFF at a Walton care home are celebrating after watchdogs praised their home’s massive improvement.
In November last year Brenalwood Care Home was strongly criticised by inspectors.
They said some aspects of care had to be improved, while the home needed to be refurbished and made safer.
But after a recent surprise Care Quality Commission inspection they found a huge rise in standards at Brenalwood.
The home is now fully compliant with CQC regulations for the first time since 2007.
Home manager Wendy McNeill said: “We have worked extremely hard to bring ourselves up to this point.
“It has been a long process to get to this point and we were just over the moon when we saw the new report.
Following November’s negative report, home owners Regal Care Trading moved to address the issues with the home itself by installing new flooring and a ramp to the garden.
The lighting was also improved, and new systems were put into place to boost the level of care.
