COMMUTERS were handed free books as they hopped onto their early-morning train as part of World Book Night.
Sally Johnson and Judith Charlesworth, who own Caxton Books in Frinton, handed out a mass of books at Thorpe railway station on Tuesday morning.
The giveaway was part of World Book Night, an event set up to get more people reading.
Sally said: “We decided to give them out to support World Book Night and encourage people who don’t usually read to pick up a book."
They handed out copies of thriller Little Face by local author Sophie Hannah.
