David Dimbleby will take charge of his 10th general election special for the BBC, the broadcaster has announced.
The team that will front General Election 2017 over June 8 and 9 at the BBC has been confirmed as David with Mishal Husain, Emily Maitlis and Jeremy Vine.
His team will begin broadcasting when the polls close and will take the results coverage through to the following morning, when Huw Edwards will pick up the baton.
David presented his first results programme in 1979 and will lead reports, analysis and tally results as they come in, along with experts and interviews with all the major political players.
Huw will guide viewers through the main events of June 9, including the formation of a new government, and Andrew Neil will take over from Mishal.
The 2017 election coverage will also include appearances from political editor Laura Kuenssberg and economics editor Kamal Ahmed, as well as reports from key constituencies around the UK.
Jeremy will offer data analysis and graphics, while Professor John Curtice will lead a team of psephologists.
Director of news James Harding said: “This snap election surprised the country and election night is bound to be one of the most closely followed in recent times.
“BBC’s results night will once again offer people the most reliable breaking news, impartial analysis, with a host of trusted experts and above all our unrivalled presenting team.”
BBC News will offer guides, explainers, results and news on demand, online and on the app.
The overnight programme will be simulcast on BBC One, BBC News Channel and BBC World News.
