One Direction’s Harry Styles has made a plea to fans saying he “wants to live in a world where every child can go to school”.
Harry posted a YouTube video to his Twitter account to deliver the message, as part of the Action/1D campaign, in collaboration with Action/2015.
The campaign sees 1D helping to bring about global changes as they tackle some serious issues.
“I really loved my school days,” Styles says. “When we went to Ghana we met children whose only dream was to get an education.
“At the moment they have to work all day, every day just to earn enough to eat. Going to school could literally change their lives, but for now all they can look forward to is a life of struggle and they deserve so much more.”
As part of the campaign, 1D have asked their fans to describe the kind of world they want to live in, using video snippets and photos.
The other band members, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne have already posted their videos.
One Direction launched their involvement earlier in July in the global campaign, supported by numerous other A-list celebrities. They signed off their launch video message saying: “Make 2015 the year we change our futures forever.”
