Madonna caused a stir on the red carpet at the Grammys in a show-stopping Givenchy outfit – and that was before she even hit the stage.

Her black and pink corset and bullfighter’s hat turned heads when the singing star arrived on the red carpet, accompanied by Nas and Diplo, who worked on her latest album Rebel Heart.

“He’s also made my performance outfit,” she said of the designer, telling E!’s Ryan Seacrest that there was a good reason why she would have to change for the stage. Showing off her spiky footwear, she said: “These boots have nails in them, I can’t dance on nails.”

Diplo said of working with the star: “It was long process but it was worth it. There were a lot of trials and tribulations because the album got leaked midway through and we had to go back and mash the records up even more and make them crazier.”

Madonna said of having her music hacked: “It was an interesting process, because the music came out unready and people were commenting on it, and even though I was p***ed that stuff got leaked, then I was like ‘Oh I better change this’ – it actually helped guide me a little bit.”

Asked what fans could expect from her Grammy performance at the Staples Centre in LA, Madonna didn’t give too much away, saying: “Bullfighting… love… romance… heartache.”
