(Footpath 36, Footpath 23 & Footpath 31, Frinton & Walton, Thorpe Le Soken) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2017

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Footpath 36, Footpath 31, Frinton & Walton and Footpath 23, Thorpe Le Soken in the District of Tendring as specified:

Footpath 23, Thorpe Le Soken

Description

From the seawall east of Birch Hall Farm, Dale Hill, for a distance of approximately 500m in an easterly direction.

From the seawall at the end of Foundry Lane for a distance of approximately 500m north towards the Naze

From the seawall at the end of Island Lane for a distance of approximately 500m in a westerly direction.

Alternative route

The footpaths will be diverted from the crest of the tidal defence to the landward folding for the extent of the works. Please see plan

Footpath 36, Frinton & Walton

The works are scheduled to take approximately 2.5 months between 4th August 2017 and 4th January 2018. Specific dates will be as signed on site.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while maintenance to the tidal facing

area of the defence embankment and improvements to the crest of the tidal defence wall is undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 4th August 2017 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the

works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
