A water company is seeking public opinion on how drinking water can be maintained in the event of a future drought.
Essex and Suffolk Water (ESW) are required to publish a new drought plan every three years to explain how they would manage water supplies if there was a shortage.
In 2011, March was the second driest in East Anglia the last 100 years.
ESW supply water to 1.8 million customers across the region and are inviting the public to comment on the draft version of their plans.
Martin Lunn, ESW’s supply demand strategy manager, said: “Supplying water in the driest part of the country, we are already well equipped to deal with prolonged dry weather as we saw last year.
“However all droughts are different and we welcome public feedback on the plan.”
