I READ last week’s report that Tendring is the worst place in Essex for child poverty, and also about the amount of unemployment.

How can local councillors pass the building of housing on greenbelt land, which will only encourage more people from London to live in an area of low-class employment and increase poverty figures, drugs and drinking?

The police force is already under pressure to control the local problems. What chance will they have with the man power and who will pay for the additional police required?

Who will pay the loss of the council tax that the additional housing will bring due to occupants being on the dole - not their fault, but due to lack of jobs?

We, at present can’t contain the costs of those who unfortunately can’t find work.
