I’D like to thank Tom Bramhill for his response to my letter “Football ground is in wrong place” (October 20).

Any football club, if it’s to be at all relevant to its community, must be centrally located.

His point about parking problems could be relevant, but, one must remember the very small numbers of fans attending matches. Most would walk to the ground and the few that drove could easily park down Knox Road and not the busy Old Road. The club’s present location means all fans have to drive without a bus service passing the ground, so that in itself create congestion.

ON October 27, a pair of ladies prescription sunglasses were left in the Scout Shop, in Old Road, Clacton. If anyone thinks they maybe theirs, please call into the Scout shop any day (apart from Wednesday and Sundays) and a member of staff will return them to you.

HOW very nice of Morrisons Supermarket to give out £25 to those who spend at least £40 each week up until Christmas.

I’m sure this will be well received by people with large families. But, come on Morrisons, what about those of us who live alone and don’t spend that amount? Be fair to those of us who are loyal to you.

WE desperately need donations for our Christmas fair on November 26, in particular toiletries and bric-a-brac, but are unable to accept clothing. Please deliver items to us at Read House, 23 The Esplanade, Frinton. Thank you.

SO it looks like we won’t be getting any Christmas lights in Clacton this year. We adults like to see the lights, but what about the children missing out? Surely, if all business contributed a small amount, they could go on and, if the town looks festive, that would bring the people in shopping and put money in the tills.
