WERE you the driver of the car speeding across Holland marshes, near the Lions Den on October 24, at about 5.15am.

You knocked down a beautiful black and white cat and didn’t even have the decency to stop and place his body on the grass verge.

If you had done, you would have seen that he was still alive, severely injured and in shock. Instead you left him.

I came across the marshes with my mum at 5.35am and found this poor cat lying in the road, very badly injured. We left a message with the Post Office stores in the hope of finding the owners and took the little cat to the vets.

The vets gave him fluids, painkillers and kept him warm, but his injuries were too severe and sadly he was put to sleep on October 25. Despite our efforts we have not traced the owners.

This endless speeding with no regard to wildlife or human life, must stop. One day you may hurt an animal or person you do care about.
