I AM writing in response to the story in last week’s Gazette regarding the proposed sale of Martello Tower F and its possible conversion into a Hindu temple.
What a unique and fantastic idea this is. The tower was derelict for a good number of years and I have watched its progress and restoration over the last couple of years.
It is quirky that in Napoleonic times it was there to protect our borders from being invaded and today it may be converted into a temple.
It is a true reflection of the cosmopolitan and multi-cultural Britain that exists today.
The temple will attract visitors from all over the world and will surely out Clacton on the map. It will be a great asset to Clacton and the local area.
