Withy King launches new trust company in Wiltshire

A new trust company has been launched by Swindon law firm, Withy King, to act as executors of Wills and trustees of trusts as well as to manage the financial, property, social and welfare affairs of vulnerable children and adults unable to do so themselves.

Withy King Trust Company Limited will fulfil many roles, including acting as trustee and deputy for clients who are no longer able to manage their own affairs – for example due to illness or accident. They include children and adults who have received compensation for personal injury or clinical negligence and require experts to manage investments and expenditure throughout their lifetime.

Working with Withy King Trust Company are two new recruits: chartered accountant Maria Meek and solicitor Holly Mieville-Hawkins whose expertise lies in Court of Protection work, including statutory wills, lasting powers of attorney and professional deputyships as well as managing trusts set up to protect the interests of the most vulnerable beneficiaries.

Three more experts have also joined Withy King’s rapidly-expanding Private Client team. Solicitors Elizabeth Nash and Mike Muston have been added to the firm’s inheritance disputes team while Laura Yuill has joined as Probate and Trusts Manager.

James McNeile, partner and head of the Private Client team at Withy King, said: “The launch of a separate trust company demonstrates our commitment to this highly specialist area and our growing involvement in providing vulnerable people with the best possible support in managing their lives and financial affairs.

“It also gives clients using our Wills, estate and trust planning services continuity and peace of mind for the future because while individual partners may retire or move on, the trust company will remain in place to take on these important roles at the appropriate time.

“We are pleased to welcome our new team members on board. They are already working closely with clients as well as with other firms of solicitors and accountants who need assistance with providing these specialist services.”
