Jamie Gower was last seen over the Easter weekend

5:18pm Saturday 16th May 2009

MOTORISTS in Essex are being asked to be on the lookout for a missing man.

Appeal for Information about Grandparents...

11:21am Tuesday 31st March 2009

I HAVE been researching my family tree and i have found out that my grandmother Jennie Braundt and her sister Dolly Braundt used to work in Cordy's restaurant in the 1920's in Clacton. I was wondering if any readers had any information or photos of the restaurant.

The Super Surgery Debate

11:20am Tuesday 31st March 2009

LET’S get one thing straight with the 'super surgery' debate in Holland and now Kirby, Frinton and Walton. This diktat that we the residents of these fair places will have a 'super surgery' regardless if you want one, is from the government. Not the doctors, not the county or local councillors or even the PCT. But from that lot that live on another planet.

A Fairytale?

11:17am Tuesday 31st March 2009

WAS that a Tory fairytale or just a story with a happy ending which Councillor Griffiths was writing about last week? (postbag, March 26). Or was it just a total U-turn by the Tendring Tories?

Saddened by loss of Summer Show

12:17pm Tuesday 24th March 2009

AS a frequent visitor to Clacton I am amazed to hear that the Westcliff Theatre will not be staging a summer show this year. At a time when most seaside towns are trying to promote their holiday image, I would have thought that losing the summer show would have been the last thing allowed to happen.

Health Meetings

12:15pm Tuesday 24th March 2009

AS one of the Tendring Public Governors of Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust (CHUFT), I would like to bring to public attention the next members’ council meeting, to which you are all invited. This meeting is being held in Training Block South, Colchester Hospital at 10am on April 2.

The Holland Surgery Debate

12:13pm Tuesday 24th March 2009

WITH reference to the letter from Holland on Sea Councillors and the Holland Residents Association in last week’s Gazette. Perhaps, instead of condemning the people who voted them into their positions, they could actually make it crystal clear to residents exactly what is on offer. The proposed health centre and the urgency to achieve it is a direct result of a government led initiative to build 152 health centres in every PCT area of the country - whether needed or not - and because the PCT’s have a deadline from central government to put the health centres out to tender by the end of March.

The Way the Money Goes

12:13pm Tuesday 10th March 2009

THE sensibly collated ‘Inform’ guide, which together with council tax bills, hit the doormats last week, tells an interesting story. Like all good stories, a mixture of fact, fable, hype and hope. Notable as much for significant omissions as for inclusions.

Parking Concerns

12:15pm Tuesday 10th March 2009

TENDRING First Councillors have recently held two meetings at the community centre in The Triangle Shopping Centre in respect of residents and councillors’ concerns of the highway problems besetting residents, school children and shoppers.

A Temple Would be an Asset

12:22pm Tuesday 10th March 2009

I AM writing in response to the story in last week’s Gazette regarding the proposed sale of Martello Tower F and its possible conversion into a Hindu temple.
