Tim Young selected as Labour candidate for Clacton
To have a realistic prospect of getting a UKIP MP in Clacton - folk will need to do far more than just vote for whichever candidate UKIP put up. That electoralcalculus web site I mentioned earlier is predicting just a 0.3% of the poll support for UKIP in Clacton under our existing electoral system. It takes more than keyboard bashing to change election outcomes! And that, is exactly why our Douglas will win once again,
and you know it too..
you also know Douglas is a backbencher, on who own admission earns him no favours from the frontbenchers either why?
because he stands for HIS beliefs, not always the tory party beliefs.
Vote for THE winning team yet once more, as the majority cannot be wrong..

To go away to the most inform team in the league and come away with a point is simply fantastic. How you can say that you have supported Col u for 50+ years, when all you do is put them down beggars belief. Reality check needed now for the brain dead residents of Colchester.....

Bars asked to pay an extra tax to make Colchester safer at night
Shocking experience @ nine o'clock in the town centre last night - As I passed a bouncer he smiled and said.'Good evening, sir!!' Two youths passed me wearing suits & ties... Stone cold sober !! Is this disgraceful 'trendy' behaviour the image we want people to remember us by? I think the whole place needs a shake-up & the only way to do it is to tax ,tax, tax!! ...its cured global warming so its got to be the way forward. IMO

Anger as Clacton businesses claim TV show could affect trade
Nora. I agree with your comments entirely. Towns during the day when the visitors we really want to try and attract can be totally different to the way they are at night. I can remember when I was looking to move out of London going to St Albans, a quiet genteel place during the daytime but at 11.00pm at night the police vans park at either end of the high street and watch the fights kick-off before moving in. I think Clacton is great and full of good honest down to earth people, unlike the pretentious prigs of Colchester.

Colchester can't afford to fund popular Tour Series
If the bike race really brings in extra money to traders, then a simple levy on them all would cover it. But a lot of them claim they suffer.
£75000 is the cost of keeping Abbots open for another year. CBC are getting rid of Abbots, so they cannot justify spending that money on a one-day bike race even though it brings so much pleasure to so many of us.
It is tough times now, the government have slashed payments to local authorities, haven't people got that yet?
Blame the race organisers for demanding such a massive contribution from the towns which host it.
