"When I came off the Young Adult press tour and then did press for this, someone said ,'You know, you've been playing a lot of evil - may I say b****y characters.' We came to the idea that Picasso had his blue period and this is my b****y period."

Charlize - who recently adopted a baby son - plays vain Queen Ravenna, while Twilight's Kristen Stewart stars as her stepdaughter Snow White, in the new adaptation of the story, directed by Rupert Sanders.

Charlize said of the film: "It's amazing that we get to do this! Does it look like we're having fun? We get to play! We get to put crowns on our heads and scream at people and play mean. It's amazing, it's the greatest job ever!"
