Clinton Morrison wants to break his Colchester United scoring duck and shoot down Sheffield United tomorrow.

And the experienced forward knows scoring against the Blades would also please supporters of his former club Sheffield Wednesday.

Morrison has been inundated with messages from Owls fans begging him to score against their fierce city rivals.

The 33-year-old would dearly like to oblige - and get off the mark for the U’s.

Morrison said: “I’ve had loads of texts from Sheffield Wednesday fans saying make sure you get your goalscoring boots on tomorrow.

“I’d love to score and get one over them for the Sheffield Wednesday fans.

“The Sheffield United fans will probably give me stick and the rivalry in the city is massive - there’s a lot of hatred there.

“Sheffield is up there with the other derbies I’ve played in.

“I played for Birmingham against Aston Villa in the West Midlands derby and that was massive.

“But the Sheffield one was up there with 37,000 at Hillsborough.

“The main thing for me is that I put the ball in the net and get the three points for Colchester.”

Shame the game wasn't changed to last night or tomorrow with the clash with the free festival will hit gates hard. The club keeps barking on about attendances but this is the second year running we've had home games when theres an event in town that's free to get into and attracts about 3x our home gate to it.
