A darts duo from The Grapes public house in Colchester are preparing themselves for one of their biggest ever tournaments.
Coen Wiekamp and Adrian Genery will take part in the Blue Square UK Open, which starts on June 4.
Some of the sport’s biggest names, such as Phil Taylor, James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld, will take part in the competition, which has been dubbed the ‘FA Cup of darts’.
The Grapes pair earned the right to compete at the televised event, which takes place at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, after progressing through qualifying.
They saw off competition from players from all over the south-east region.
Wiekamp represented The Grapes at the knockout tournament in Aylesbury, while Genery competed on behalf of Chelmsford Social Club.
Fellow Grapes players Jamie Robinson and team captain Paul Copeland also took part in the qualifiers.
