DEREK Manister's hole-in-one was the highlight of Playgolf Colchester Seniors' monthly medal competition.
Manister enjoyed the milestone for the first-ever time, on the par three 16th hole.
The quality of the event reflected the excellent condition of the course maintained by the dedicated greenkeepers.
In the main competition scoring was good, with several sub-par scores returned.
Leading division one and keeping his current form was Will Elder (14) with an outstanding 64 nett.
It included nine pars and one birdie, reducing his handicap by two shots.
Manister (22) was a shot adrift in second place, earning him a one-shot reduction in his card handicap.
Greg King (19) was only one shot off second place on 66 nett, also reducing his handicap by one shot.
Keith Murray (25) had a good score of 68 nett to claim first place in division two.
He was one stroke ahead of Michael Richardson (28) in second place on countback from third-placed Terry Pettitt (23), after both players carded 69 nett.
Paul Marsh, Will Elder and Michael Richardson each won a sleeve of balls for birdies on par three holes.
