PETER Quilty stormed the back nine to lift Playgolf Colchester's Easter Tankard.

Quilty (17) followed up his excellent front nine with a superb back nine, finishing with a par four birdie to win with 43 points.

Quilty took advantage of the good course conditions and additional run on offer to total an amazingly consistent ten pars and a birdie.

Ken Todd (20) felt he was in contention after playing a great round, scoring 41 points.

His card highlights all came on the front nine with a superb seven pars, being only four over the course at the turn.

Matt Clark (18) carded six pars and a par-five birdie to take third place, totalling 40 points.

Playgolf Colchester's Curry Cup team were victorious at home to a strong-looking The Essex team, in the league stage.

The team got off to a great start, winning 4.5 points from the morning foursomes.

The afternoon singles saw a similar result, with seven of the 12 points going to Playgolf.

Jack Moutell set the team off to a great start, taking the first home singles point.

Other winning points went to Matt Barnett, Matt Clark, Elias Fantousi, Calum McKenzie and Christos Fantousi, with half points coming from Conor Garvey and Jack Blackman.

A large field tackled the cool breeze and slick greens in the Playgolf Seniors’ stableford competition.

The relative newcomer, Alan Robinson (18) took the honours in division one on countback from second-placed Alan Barrett (19) after both carded 37 points.

Bruce Poole (22) carded 36 points to finish in third place.

Division two was closely contested, with Peter Evans (24) coming out on top on countback from second-placed Colin Green (28), after both carded 36 points.

Bob Price (28) was third on countback from David Palmer (28) and Geoff Tredgett (27), who all carded 32 points.
