Colchester United defender Frankie Kent has won the EFL Young Player of the Month award for December.
The young U's centre-back has been named as the best young player across all divisions, following his fine performances last month.
Kent told the U's website: "It's actually come as a bit of a shock to me, but I'm really pleased to have won it and I just hope we can keep our good form going.
Kent, 21, played his part in helping John McGreal's side stay unbeaten in League Two in December, keeping two clean sheets in the process.
The former Arsenal trainee follows in the footsteps of Spurs star Dele Alli and Moussa Dembele of Celtic in winning the accolade.
