FORMER captain Trevor Cocksedge emerged victorious in Playgolf Colchester's Senior Medal.

Cocksedge (13) took pole position in division one of the event with his gross 82 (nett 69) total.

Another ex-captain, Dave Needham (20) took second place with his nett 72.

Greg King (21) was third with his nett 72, to finish third after countback.

Division two was won by Desmond McCarron on countback with his nett 72 from Peter Evans.

Evans completed the trio of ex-captains with top-three results, in second while Bernard Keyes carded a nett 77 for third.

The par-three two-balls winners were Jim Greenfield and vice-captain Michael Johnson.

Playgolf Colchester staged their annual Ladies and Seniors fun day.

The day was held in superb weather and course conditions.

The format for the day was a mixed pairs foursome stableford and the competition was a fun day.

However, there was a competitive edge, with some tightly-fought contests.

The pairing of Pauline Jordan and Greg King took victory with 35 points.

Jenny Boyden and Peter Saye and Judith Peeling and Jerry Dalton in the mix for the runner-up spot with countback needed to separate the two pairs, sitting a single point adrift on 34 points.

The Boyden and Saye partnership took the decision, clinching the runner-up spot.

Janet Blackmore and Bruce Poole were just one more point off the pace with 33 in fourth place.
