THIRTY-FOUR Five Lakes seniors competed for the Callinan Crystal - a stableford qualifying competition - on the Lakes course.
In dry conditions but with a breezy, unpredictable wind blowing, scoring was not easy, with only ten of the field returning scores above 30 points.
The greens, although slick and challenging, provided perfect putting surfaces which were well mastered by the winner, 21-handicapper Norman Davies, who returned an unassailable target of 37 points.
He finished two clear of three players challenging for second place.
John Saunders finally claimed the runners-up position on countback, returning 35 points.
Results: 1st Norman Davies 37, 2nd John Saunders 35 points on countback, 3rd Frank Taylor 35 points on countback, 4th Ron Dent 35 points, 5th Peter Gee 32 points on countback, 6th Ken Russell 32 points.
These results contributed to the 2016 Seniors' Order of Merit.
At the top, after six competitions, is Gee, with 32 points.
