TWO ladies’ teams from Clacton and District Indoor Bowls Club were in action on Essex County Finals Day, hosted by Falcon.
They won the pairs and were runners-up in the fours competition.
Marilyn Butler and Marilyn Crane played in the pairs against Gill Mitchinson and Sylvia Bloomfield, from Tye Green Bowls Club.
This was an absolutely fantastic game, in which the two Marilyns won by a staggering 25 shots to 12 to become Essex champions.
Butler then played a further match in the fours competition, in which she was joined by Joyce Hill, Jean Alton and Janette Millington.
Earlier they had knocked out their club-mates in the semi-final, that Clacton team consisting of Pauline Swift, Sheila Howe, Carol Batchelor and Stella Newell.
The finalists took on a team from Tye Green.
And after a close match, Clacton lost by 18 shots to 14.
The team were presented with their prizes by Falcon president Geraldine Cane.
