THE end of the summer season is looming for the Millers Barn Golf Park CHAPS Society.
There are only three matches left and the order of merit is still to be decided.
The society played their championship recently and, with all but two members available, it was almost a full house.
With everyone playing off scratch, the competition was fierce.
The final victory went to Tom Murphy, returning a gross score of 79.
Murphy had a front nine of 38 and a back nine of 41.
The category one winner, for handicaps of under 18, was Dennis Bruce, with an 84.
He had a front nine of 40 and a back nine of 44.
In category two, for handicaps of 19 to 22, the winner was Mark Adams, with an 81.
He had a front nine of 38 and a back nine of 43.
In category three, for handicaps of 23 to 28, the winner was Rod Russell, with an 87.
He had a front nine of 41 and a back nine of 46.
In the ladies’ section, the winner was Doreen Brand.
The front nine winners tied on 38 and they were Mark Adams and Peter Thurlow, while the back nine winner was Les Hamilton, with a 40.
