CLACTON and District Indoor Bowls Club began the winter season with an inter-club men v ladies contest.
The men won by 173 shots to 82.
Out of six rinks, the ladies only won on one.
The best rink for the men was rink one, with a staggering score of 45-5.
The team consisted of Don Carter, Dave Bexley, John Kidd and Geoff Coles.
The winning rink for the ladies was rink six, who won 24-10.
The team consisted of Maureen Wright, Brenda Ward, Sandra Harris and Barbara Robinson.
Clacton played a friendly at home to Thameside Wanderers on Sunday and won 119-91.
The winning rink for Clacton was rink four, who won 28-9.
The winning team was Cyril Margetts, Colin Harris, Marilyn Crane and Paul Gillett.
