LITTLE Clacton’s mixed team have wrapped up a league title.

They have won Colchester and District League division five, following a 6-3 victory at Colchester Lawn.

It was a tough match for them and, after two rounds, the score was 3-3.

However, Little Clacton finished the stronger and ran out victorious.

With another match to play, they have an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

Kay and Jonathan Mansfield were undefeated throughout the evening, backed up by two wins from Tony Fulcher and Louise Thomas-Unger and one from John Russel and Sarah Fulcher.

Meanwhile, Little Clacton’s ladies’ team made it five straight wins thanks to a comfortable success against the Officers Club.

The winning team was Kay Mansfield and Sarah Fulcher, June Ratford and Judith Kent and Kim Cade and Thomas-Unger.

With three matches to play, they need to win one more to become league champions.

Little Clacton’s men’s team also had a home victory against Dovercourt and won 7-2.

They are now up to third in division four but have a tough finish to the season.
