WIVENHOE TOWN and STANWAY ROVERS could be on course for an eye-catching Essex Senior Cup showdown.

The sides could meet in the second round of next season’s competition - if Stanway overcome first-round hosts Stansted.

In that case, they will play each other at Wivenhoe’s Maple Tree Cars Stadium on or before October 3.

And if they win, the Seasiders will be back on the road for a match at Ilford.

In other second-round matches, HALSTEAD TOWN will host Takeley while BURNHAM RAMBLERS face a trip to Waltham Forest.

The draws were conducted by Clacton manager David Coyle and Halstead counterpart Mark Benterman.
