THE Millers Barn Golf Park CHAPS Society played a greensomes pairs better ball round and first place went to Peter Thurlow and Alan Brand, carding a respectable 82-22-60.
This was a nett two under par.
Coming home second place was the pairing of Dennis Bruce and Doreen Brand, carding 84-23-61 (nett one under par).
In third place were Mel White and Brian Braithwaite, carding 90-26-64 (nett two over par).
The CHAPS monthly medal round also took place and, going out on a particularly difficult day, with strong winds and the occasional shower, everyone struggled.
The ninth hole was extremely difficult, with the wind straight in the players’ faces.
The winner was Thurlow, carding 86-19-67.
Second place went to Frank Warbey, carding 88-18-70, and third place to Tom Murphy, with 87-16-71.
The front nine winner was Rod Russell, with a nett 34, and the back nine winner was Frank Warbey, with a nett 35.
