CLACTON Golf Club’s seniors played their three clubs and a putter competition and the winner was Keith Potter.
Overnight rain meant the course was very wet, despite the best efforts of head greenkeeper Alan Smith and his staff.
A large field participated in this popular event and Potter won with 39 points. In second was Allan Clarke, with 38 points, on countback from third-placed Doug Nichols.
In fourth was seniors vice-captain Tony Burnside, with 37, and in fifth was John Crick, with 36.
Meanwhile, Clacton’s ladies played their six-up stableford competition over 13 holes.
The winner was Jackie Bright, with a good score of 31 points, on countback from second-placed Pam Richmond.
Maxine Baker was third, with 30.
