STANWAY ROVERS booked their place in the next round of the Thurlow Nunn League's Challenge Cup tonight thanks to a dramatic 2-1 victory against Cornard United.
Debutant Sulab Rana put Rovers in front before Cornard grabbed a late leveller, at The Hawthorns.
However, Jack Smith snatched a last-gasp winner direct from a corner.
FC CLACTON were in Essex Senior Cup action at home to Grays Athletic.
However, the Seasiders lost the third-round tie 4-0.
