STANWAY ROVERS manager Angelo Harrop has challenged his players to bounce back from one of the biggest lows of his time in charge.

The Hawthorns boss admitted his players were “in bits” after Saturday’s deflating 2-1 loss against Gorleston.

It was only their first defeat of the Thurlow Nunn League premier division season but Harrop said the manner of the setback was “hard to take”.

Now he wants his players to respond positively in tonight’s trip to Haverhill Rovers.

“Saturday was up there with the most disappointing games during my time in charge,” said the former Colchester United youth-teamer.

“But we have to keep it in perspective.

“It was our first league defeat, following a bright start, and it’s good that we’re playing again tonight.

“We’ll travel in confident mood and I’m sure that if we build on our weekend performance - but this time take our chances - we’ll be fine.”

Elsewhere tonight, FC CLACTON are at home to Felixstowe & Walton.
