Izzet returns as U's lose a seven-goal thriller
10:43am Tuesday 26th February 2013 in Local Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Comeback - U's skipper Kem Izzet made his return in their under-21 defeat at Ipswich Town.
Kem Izzet made his return from injury as Colchester United under-21s were beaten 4-3 at neighbours Ipswich Town.
Izzet made his first competitive appearance in nearly two months following an ankle injury when he featured in the U's game.
Alex Gilbey, Jordan Sanderson and Jack Compton were all on target for Colchester.
But Town ran out winners thanks to a hat-trick from Frank Nouble and a further strike from Andy Drury.
The likes of Matt Heath and Drey Wright also featured for the U's in the Professional Development League Two match.

Love him or loathe him Izzet gives us bite in the midfield which we are missing at the moment with Wright/Clifford/Bean
.
Had to laugh at a post suggesting Magnus play in midfield, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOO, Magnus would be a complete liability in midfield as his range of passing ranges from hitting it hard to hitting it harder, plus his reading of the game is poor.
Young Gilbey could do a job for us in central midfield, (good passer of ball and an eye for goal) he has proven (under 21 squad) that he is as good a player as Clifford, plus he is not an Oompaloompah plus from what I have seen he will not be pushed off the ball as easy as young Clifford.
Drey Wright is as good as Porter or Massey, and really do not understand the reasons for him not playing.
Come on Joe Dunne and drop some of these loanees as they really are not up for the situation we find ourselves in. Believe a squad player will always give you more than a loanee, especially when the chips are down.
One final thing please put David Wright out to grass, worst signing I have seen for a very long while.
