Maldon and Tiptree had a lot celebrate on Tuesday night.
They secured a 3-2 Ryman League divison one north win against Potters Bar Town and manager Terry Spillane was presented with the manager-of-the-month awards for October, November and December.
And the win saw Maldon increase their lead at the top of the division to 13 points.
Joe Gardner sent Dave Bryan clear to open the scoring on eight minutes and Maldon had a good penalty appeal waved away when Bryan was brought down three minutes later. Almost immediately afterwards Jose Espinoza equalised for Town.
Five minutes before half-time Bryan put Maldon back in front with a deflected shot.
Maldon looked to have sewn up the win in the 71st minute when Gardner tapped in.
However, Town didn't give up and Josh Hutchinson pulled a goal back.
But Maldon managed to hold out to secure the win.
