U's feeling confident ahead of Robins test
Colchester United manager Joe Dunne wants his side to continue their winning run against Swindon Town tonight.
The U's head into the match at the Weston Homes Community Stadium buoyed by securing back-to-back wins for the first time since October.
But the promotion-chasing Robins lie fourth in the table and are unbeaten in nine matches.
Dunne said: “It’s a very difficult game for us tonight and we’re fighting for survival.
“Swindon are near the top of the table but confidence is high and we have to take every game as it comes now.
“Great credit to the players, coming off nine defeats and getting back to back wins now.
“How quickly football changes but we have to keep on working hard.
“We can’t just rest now otherwise it’ll all fall around us.
“This game can change in a flash and we’ve experienced that.”
Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio is threatening to take a squad of only 13 players to tonight's game.
Di Canio is reported to still be mulling over his future as Swindon boss, in the wake of star player Matt Ritchie’s sale to Bournemouth.
U’s boss Dunne said he is a fan of the charismatic Italian, ahead of tonight’s League One meeting.
Dunne said: “I was privileged enough to spend a bit of time with Paolo when we played them earlier in the season.
“He was very good to us and he spoke very well about us.
“I hope Paolo sticks with it but whatever happens at their club is down to them.
“He’s certainly someone who will be around managing for a long time, that’s for sure.”
