HELLO again everyone.

Well, after a hectic start to the season, it feels like we have had almost the first moment to pause and draw breath before the FC Clacton bandwagon rolls onto its next stop.

There was just the one game for the Seasiders this week when we travelled to high-flying Coggeshall Town last Friday.

Unfortunately, for the second time this season, it was Coggeshall who got the best of us as they ran out 3-0 winners.

After a tight first half that saw the hosts 1-0 up, we were still in the game and had missed a number of chances of our own to equalise.

But two penalties in quick succession in the second half put the game beyond our reach as we suffered our first league defeat in over six weeks.

The defeat leaves us in 15th position, near the foot of a tightly-packed jumble of clubs in the middle of the Thurlow Nunn League premier division.

Just two points separate eighth and 16th place at the moment so mid-table positions could be swapped as frequently as football stickers over the next couple of months.

Our opponents this Saturday at the Rush Green Bowl, Great Yarmouth Town, sit 17th but have played an incredible eight games less than us already, so three points to shoot ourselves up that mid-table pack would be a big boost.

One last story to come out of the club this week was the departure of striker Michael Runicles, due to family reasons.

In his short spell with us, Michael had shown himself to be a hard-working and talented player who was capable of scoring goals at this level, as proven by his four goals against Little Oakley two weeks ago.

In fact, I still don’t think he has forgiven (manager) Kieron (Shelley) or (assistant boss) Mike (Wallace) for substituting him and denying him the opportunity to become the first FCC player to score five goals in a game!

We wish Michael all the best on and off the pitch and hopefully we will see him back at the Bowl in the future.

Hopefully we will see you all at the Bowl this Saturday.

Come on you Seasiders!
