IT’S been another noteworthy week FC Clacton.

Goals, bookings, red cards, last-gasp equalisers (sadly) and enough landmark achievements to keep our good friend Statto busy until well after the international break!

It really has had it all ....

It began last Saturday, as we welcomed another top-six team to the Bowl.

Wroxham were playing in the division above us last term and will doubtless be looking to finish in the upper echelons of our division this term.

Much like our game the previous Saturday versus Newmarket, I’d have happily taken a point before kick-off.

But when you’re leading 1-0 right up until the final kick of the game .... admittedly we’d have been out of sight had we taken our chances and so we probably only have ourselves to blame!

Taking our chances wasn’t quite so much of a problem at the Bowl on Tuesday evening, however, with Michael Runicles plundering four goals in our 7-2 win over Little Oakley.

Markel Greenidge and Terry Rymer, with a superb free-kick, were also on the scoresheet, as was Zach Smith-Walter, for his first-ever senior goal.

We now move onto the last four of the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Cup, with a possible semi-final against Wivenhoe Town to come.

This Saturday we welcome Fakenham Town to the Bowl.

Our visitors have had a difficult start to the season and I know (manager) Kieron (Shelley) and the boys will be targeting a victory from this one.

It’s also Non-League Day 2017, where, with no Premier or Football League games on the day, fans are encouraged to go out and support their local team.

At FC Clacton, we’re delighted to offer supporters who have a current season ticket for a Premier or Football League club entry to Saturday’s match for just £1!

So if you regularly watch Ipswich or West Ham, for example, and therefore have some time on your hands this Saturday afternoon, how about giving us a try?

If football for a quid and the lure of Baz’s burgers doesn’t get you over, then frankly I don’t know what will!

Come on you Seasiders!
