THE draws have been made for the opening rounds of next season's FA Cup, FA Vase and FA Trophy.

All of north Essex's non-league sides discovered their opponents when details of the initial ties were released on Friday lunchtime.

The FA Cup extra preliminary round gets things under way on Saturday, August 6 and there are home matches for Stanway Rovers, Wivenhoe Town and FC Clacton.

Rovers will entertain FC Romania, the Dragons welcome Hullbridge FC to the Maple Tree Cars Stadium and Tom Gooder's Clacton will host Eton Manor.

Halstead Town, of the Thurlow Nunn League first division, also have a home tie, against Newmarket Town, while Brantham Athletic have been paired with Hadley.

If they are successful against Eton Manor, Clacton will face a trip to Ryman League side Witham Town in the preliminary round, on August 20.

Stanway or FC Romania will head to Barking or Takeley, while the winners of the Wivenhoe-Hullbridge clash will travel down the A12 to Romford.

Halstead or Newmarket also face a trip to south Essex, to take on Thurrock.

Maldon and Tiptree and Heybridge Swifts have been handed away ties, against Ware and Royston respectively, while Brightlingsea Regent are at home to Great Wakering.

The first qualifying round of the Vase will be played on September 10 and it's Wivenhoe v Wadham Lodge, Clacton v Enfield 1893 and Halstead v Hadley.

If both overcome their first opponents, Wivenhoe and Clacton could meet at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium.

Halstead or Hadleigh will play the winners of the Codicote v St Margaretsbury tie, while Brantham, who have a bye into the second qualifying round, will entertain Hertford Town or Clapton.

Stanway have a bye into the first round proper.

The FA Trophy preliminary round, on October 8, features three of our Ryman League sides.

All three have been given home draws, with Witham hosting Aveley, Maldon taking on Great Wakering and Brightlingsea welcoming Dereham Town to North Road.

Heybridge Swifts have been handed a bye into the first qualifying round, on October 29, when they will visit Kings Langley.

Maldon or Great Wakering will head to Billericay Town, while Brightlingsea or Dereham will travel to Met Police.

Biggleswade Town await the winners of the Witham v Aveley tie.
