FC CLACTON have a major new sponsor.

The Seasiders are joining forces with “iconic and much-loved local landmark” Century Cinema.

The Pier Avenue venue will have its logo on the front of the club’s new official shirt, to be worn by nearly 300 players representing Clacton in around 26 teams.

The deal has been agreed for the next two seasons.

Clacton joint-owner Stephen Andrews said: “We’re delighted to announce this significant sponsorship with such an iconic and much-loved local landmark.

“It’s very important to us that all our teams wear an identical kit and this is exactly the kind of local arrangement we hoped for.

“We could not be happier and cannot wait to see our players in it.”

The cinema is also delighted with the arrangement.

General manager Danny Lees said: “All of us at Century Cinema are proud to sponsor our local football club, FC Clacton.

“We believe this will be a very good relationship over the next two years and we wish the club the best of luck for the coming season.”

The striking new kit, featuring the cinema logo, will hopefully make its debut when Clacton play their first game of the new Thurlow Nunn League season, at home to Thetford Town on July 30.
