WESTCLIFF skipper Chris Gladwin returns to his old stomping group as his side take on SNEL Division Three leaders Old Brentwoods tomorrow.

Former Essex player won the Essex League three times with the Old Boys but admits there will be no time for sentiment as Westcliff look to topple the top dogs.

"There'll be banter and it will be good to see a few old faces again but we are going there to go for the win," Gladwin said.

"We want to pick up from where we left off against Benfleet (Westcliff won by 96 runs).

"We have everybody back to face Old Brentwoods and even though a couple are out injured, we will have nine batsmen and seven bowlers in the side."

Westcliff will be without Nigel Holmes (rolled ankle) and Jack Stead (cracked knuckle) for at least the next month, but welcome back Austin Holmes and Sam Weller.

Basildon & Pitsea head to Ardleigh Green determined to keep up their winning run and cement their position among the Division Three pacesetters.

The men from Mopsies are second in the table following back-to-back wins, but their sixth-placed hosts also head into the match following consecutive wins.

"We haven't played them for a few yers, so we don't know what we'll come up against," said Basildon captain Michael Gray, whose team will be at full strength.

"Anyone can beat anyone in this decision and if you lose a game you can drop to the middle of the table.

"It's just a case of trying to build on the momentum. If we can get another three or fours wins then I think we would be able to pull away a bit."

Stanford-le-Hope will be looking to step up their bid to make a swift return to Division Two when they visit seventh-placed Woodford Green on Saturday.

Captain Matthew Page was delighted to see his batsmen click against Epping as they posted a decent target and then bowled their visitors out cheaply.

"We have aput a bit of a marker down and now we just have to keep going," Page said following the 123-run win over Epping.

"If the batsmen start playing well then we will win more games than we lose, because our bowling is so good.

"I'm happy with how it's going and it's been a good season so far."

Benfleet may still be looking for their first win of the season and will be hoping to secure it tomorrow against the only team below them in the table, West Essex.

Gavin Blowes side lost by 96 runs to Westcliff on Saturday but will be looking to secure victory at Woodside Park.
