Knockout Cup exit for Walton
Walton suffered defeat against Colchester Town in the first round of darts' Essex Men's Superleague Knockout Cup.
The first game saw Daniel Parker (20.44) unlucky to lose 2-1 to Darron Britton (20.50).
Then Craig Topolewski (24.45) played really well to come from 1-0 down and win 2-1 against Mark Woodger (24.46).
Andrew Currivan (25.78) also played well and was unfortunate not to win, going down 2-1 against Dutchman Coenraad Wiekamp (23.55).
Reece Hutchison (19.34) lost 3-0 to PDC player Jamie Robinson (27.83).
Alan Currivan (22.34) then reduced the deficit with a 2-1 win over county B player Andrew Burmby (23.79), who also hit a 177 maximum.
However, Walton's hopes of victory were dented again as Dave Tottman (23.05) lost 3-0 to 180-scoring Paul McDermott (28.35).
Walton now needed to win the last two games 3-0 to take the tie to a decider. But it was not to be.
Mark Davies (23.62) could do little about the first leg as Paul Copeland (26.12) finished with a 114-game shot.
However, he stepped up and played very well to win the last two legs for a 2-1 victory.
The last game of the night saw Robert Emery (27.16) play one of his best games for Walton.
He was unfortunate to lose the first leg to Mark Gregory (22.33), but made no mistake in winning the next two legs - including a great 130 finish - for a 2-1 victory.
