Comber plunders eight wickets in Seasiders victory

Mike Comber produced an explosive spell of bowling to help Clacton steamroller Saffron Walden by 110 runs, in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League on Saturday.

The all-rounder played for Essex in Friday's thrilling Friends Life t20 contest against the Surrey Lions at Chelmsford.

And the following day he stole the limelight by taking eight wickets for just 37 runs in 16.2 overs, as shell-shocked Saffron Walden were skittled for a paltry 68.

Only their opening batsmen made double figures.

Earlier, George Brown had top-scored with 41 for the in-form Seasiders, who posted 178.

Meanwhile, Frinton beat Wivenhoe by six wickets, in division one of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship.
