HOLLAND FC have confirmed that they will not be appointing a new manager until the summer.

The club are without a permanent boss following last week’s decision to part company with Jon Willis.

Rob Batten, who had been joint-manager, has stepped into the breach, assisted by club coaches Steve Davis and James Whyte.

And that is the arrangement the club plan to stick with until the close season.

Chairman Mark Sorrell said: “There’s no point appointing anyone now.

“I’d rather stick with the set-up we’ve got and keep our options open.

“Rob knows the club inside out.

“He’s been a huge part of everything we’ve done for the last seven years and he’ll do a great job of running things in the short-term.

“Let’s ride this season out, try and win as many games as we can and then review our options in the summer.”

Willis left the club last week, having been appointed in November.

Sorrell once again praised his ability to coach young players and said he would be welcome to return as development manager.

“Jon would be a great asset, to promote all our young players,” added Sorrell.

Meanwhile, Holland slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Team Bury, in the Thurlow Nunn League first division on Saturday.

Harrison Moore scored the only goal of the afternoon.

The club are now preparing for a double-header of Easter fixtures. They head to Diss Town on Saturday before a home match against Whitton United on Monday.

Both kick-off at 3pm.

Holland have ten fixtures left this season, with six of them at the Rush Green Bowl.

After Whitton, their remaining home games are against Leiston Reserves on April 14, Swaffham Town on April 21, Diss on April 24, Norwich CBS on April 28 and Framlingham Town on May 1.
