TENDRING Volleyball Club's women's Super 8s team stormed to a 3-0 victory at Birmingham.
They triumphed 25-12, 25-15, 25-21 to gain revenge for the sides' first meeting of the season, which Birmingham won.
Frinton-based Tendring were without player-coach Colleen King, who was out with concussion.
However, they started strongly and, thanks to some big hitting from Mechell Daniel and a strong nine-point serving run from Charlotte Bontems, they soon closed out the first set 25-12.
Tendring started the second set as they finished the first, with Lena Bitadou strong in defence and Molly Van Essen distributing the ball well to her hitters. They kept the pressure up, not letting Birmingham get into their stride, and closed the set out comfortably 25-15.
At the start of the third set, Tendring lost a bit of concentration and a few errors crept in.
This allowed Birmingham to gain some momentum and they went into the first technical time-out 8-6 ahead.
Some strong serving and defensive play from Daniel helped Tendring get back into the lead and, with a determined effort from the whole team, they managed to hold onto that lead and close out the match, winning the final set 25-21.
