LINKS Karate Club enjoyed success at the Kyu Grade National Championships, in Leicester.

First up were the boys' ten to 11 years team of Alex Darnell, Louie Fayik and Mathew Hopkins.

The trio excelled to secure the first gold medal of the championships and the title of 2018 champions.

Fayik then competed in the boys' ten years category and was on top of his game again, going through the rounds to the final.

He went on to take the gold medal - his second of the day - and the individual title.

Samuel Marshall and Leo Baloch secured bronze medals in the finals of the boys' ten to 11 years category, while Rebecca Marshall struck gold in the 12 to 13 years female section (-45kg).

She fought through the rounds, beating her competitors convincingly, before taking the gold medal in the final.

Charlotte Hope, in the female 16 to 17 years merged weights group, was unlucky to lose out to the winner in the semi-finals, which secured her the bronze medal.
