FREE-SCORING Heybridge Swifts were in seventh heaven as they cruised into the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with a comprehensive win at Arlesey Town.

Swifts dominated the game from the opening minute against the Evo-Stik Southern League east division side after Juan Luque put Jody Brown's team in the driving seat within 60 seconds of the start.

It was just the opening they would have wanted and, having won their first four games of the season in Bostik League division north, Heybridge's confidence was boosted further when Luke Callander added a second in the third minute.

There were no further goals before half-time, but just as he had in the first half, Luque made a quick start after the break as he fired Swifts into a three-goal lead in the 47th minute.

With the game now won and a place in today's second qualify round draw wrapped up, it was just a question of how many Heybridge could add to their tally.

The answer was four as Sam Bantick made it 4-0 in the 59th minute, before Ben Sampayo, Joe Gardner and Josh Fagbohun struck to complete a 7-0 victory .

There was also Evo-Stik Southern League east division opposition for Bostik League premier division side BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT, but a less satisfactory outcome for the Essex side.

It will be their hosts - Hanwell Town - who have their name in the second qualifying round draw after they won 4-1.

Hanwell, who sit bottom of their league, made early inroads as they scored in the seventh minute and added a second just before half-time, however, there was enough time left before the break for Matt Cripps to score and give Regent a lifeline.

They were unable to grasp it more firmly after the restart, though, as Oliver Duffy extended Hanwell's lead in the 56th minute and Glen Yala grabbed his second of the day just before the end to make the hosts' passage safe.

MALDON & TIPTREE were yet another Essex side facing Evo-Stik Southern League opponents and they will have to go again after being held to a 3-3 draw by Hayes & Yeading United.

The Jammers led at half-time thanks to a Junior Ogediu-Uzokwe penalty, but trailed after goals in the 50th and 56th minutes.

Ryan Gondoh got them back on level terms, but a penalty put Hayes & Yeading ahead in the 68th minute and it took a last-gasp Johnville Renee strike in the final minute to make sure Maldon would get another chance to progress as the replay was forced.

WITHAM TOWN were facing a fellow Bostik League division north side in Ware, but they bowed out of the competition after a 2-1 defeat on the road.

Denzel Conteh put Ware ahead early and they led by two at the break after a Yannick Kamanan strike late in the first half.

Witham struck back with a goal from Elliott Ronto with 16 minutes remaining, but there was no equaliser this time.
