FRINTON Golf Week continued with Professional Day and Jemma Jackson, Nigel Jackson and Liam Wilson were the big winners with 91 points.

Just behind them with 90 were Adrian Joshua, George Greenwood and Paul Marsh and in third place were Scotty Boyle, Chris Hemingway and Hamish Stubbs.

Professional Day was sponsored by Boydens.

Over on the Kirby Course, the competition was an 18-hole greensomes stableford and Louise Wood and Karen Wright won it, way out ahead with 55 points.

Suzie Gregory is having a good week.

She finished second with partner Robert Carslake, with 48 points, and Marilyn Smith and Sarah Taylor took third with 42.

Ellisons sponsored Wednesday’s four ball better ball on what turned out to be a sunny summer’s day.

Seamus Banim and Nigel Anderson were awarded first place on countback with 45 points, just ahead of Paul Tanner and Jamie Redden.

Neil Hawkes and Richard Banks also had 45 points and took third place.

The Ladies' Invitational took place on Thursday.

This is probably one of the best days in Golf Week, when the ladies treat their invited gents to a day of golf and lunch.

It was raining at the start but it soon tapered out and, by the end of the morning round, the sun was coming through to provide a lovely afternoon.

The format was foursomes. Two teams had good scores of 41, with Marie Ellis and Peter Outtridge awarded first on countback, just ahead of Val and Daniel Nicholls.

Caroline Grey and Gavin Cowell were in third place with 38 points.

The prizes were vouchers from sponsor Townrow, who have been supporting the club for many years.

Handelsbanken sponsored the Friday Texas Scramble.

The event was so popular that there were both morning and afternoon sessions. The weather was slightly better in the morning, as the wind picked up and there was some rain in the afternoon.

The overall winners were Bob Slowgrove, Daniel Nicholls, Paul Mutton and Harry Sanderson with a score of 57.2 nett.

Second place went to the team of Ben Osborne, Hamish Stubbs, Rob Long and Adam Ellis with 58.7.

Peter Irwin, Liam Wilson, John Warwick and Jamie Redden were third with 59.4.

The best ladies' team were Ginny Richardson, Lyn Lawrence, Caroline Gard and Barbara Thorpe with 65.5.

Over on the Kirby Course there was a nine-hole Texas Scramble.

First place went to the team of Chris Paxon, Paul Foskett, Richard Aldous and Brian Keating with a score of 20.3 nett.

An all-ladies team was second as Sandra Balderstone, Marie Gibson, Jo Beattie and Lynne Smith scored 21.7.

In the afternoon, Paul Mutton and Liam Wilson won the Sainsbury Putting Trophy and Liam Wilson also took home the Mallinson Pitch and Putt Trophy.
