CLACTON Swimming Club are going from strength to strength.

Having finished last year with ten swimmers achieving county swimming times and competing at the County Championships at the London Aquatics Centre in February, they went into their first swimming open of the season full of confidence.

With 12 swimmers competing, they swam a total of 59 races.

The day finished with the swimmers achieving personal best times in 48 of the 59 races, 11 of which were in a time which should also see the swimmer achieving this year’s county time and an invitation to next year’s County Championship final.

The 12 swimmers also came home with an impressive 29 medals.

Millie Hearn won eight medals from eight races and achieved five county times.

Luke Bellyou and Cydney Chung both achieved tremendous personal bests in all their races while Tabitha Kennedy was unable to compete in the afternoon session because she managed to break her finger finishing a race.
